Flair Dance Academy welcomes students from 3 years of age for classes in Jazz and Tap. This year we have added a Baby Ballet class and a Contemporary class to our timetable.
Flair Dance Academy is a reputable, locally owned business that has been operating in Laidley for over 20 years. Flair Dance Academy places a particular emphasis on fun during dance classes, using modern music and moves to get students active while helping them to develop self-confidence. At the end of the year all students participate in an annual concert where they can show family and friends what they have accomplished throughout the year. Flair Dance Academy achieves all of this while keeping costs to a minimum. All dance classes have at least one teacher and one teaching assistant, some classes with more. Keeping the student to teacher ratio low, allows for more personalised dance instruction. Registration with the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing is maintained and all teachers and assistant teachers hold government approved Blue Cards. Kylie also holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and has over 10 years primary school teaching experience.
Kylie started dancing at Flair Dance Academy when she was just 4 years of age. In her many years of dancing Kylie has participated in many styles of dance including Jazz, Tap, Classical, Neo-classical, Contemporary, Song and Dance, Cabaret, Latin and Hip Hop/Funk. She has been involved in many eisteddfods, concerts and dance displays. Kylie became a fully qualified dance teacher at the young age of 17 when she gained her Student Diploma (Tapping) and The Jazz Award through the Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing. Since gaining these qualifications, Kylie taught at Flair Dance Academy as an assistant teacher before taking over as Principal Teacher and owner in 2002. Kylie has also taught in other dance schools in Toowoomba and has choreographed for Performing Arts groups in her local area.Kylie Knappick C.S.T.D Kylie aims to instil her students with ‘a love of dance’.
